Beginner's Guide

If you're brand new to TCGs but interested in joining one then hopefully this guide will help you get started! To start with, you may be asking what exactly is an online TCG? Well, TCG stands for Trading Card Games and they are similar to the trading cards you knew as a child. Rather than playing in person and collecting cards from packs at the store, you do everything online instead!

The main goal in a TCG is to collect all of the cards in a deck which is known as mastering but to obtain the cards needed to do that, you will need to trade with others – who are also known as your fellow players! You can find a list of them on the members page, and all TCGs will have one. As for what decks you can collect, feel free to browse our cards to see if anything interests you! Each individual page like this contains all the cards in what is called a single deck.

You may also earn cards you need from participating in other parts of the TCG, such as playing games, using services and/or purchasing them from our shop, as well as participating in the various activities and events we have! However, you won't always get what you actually want from these methods which is why trading is so important and the main component of TCGs.

Overall, online TCGs are completely free to play; all you need is time (and patience) to increase your progress but the more active you are, the quicker you'll catch up to other players! Of course, you're welcome to play at whatever pace suits you as well – but do make note of our activity rules (as stated on the join form when you sign up) and follow them if you'd like to remain an active player! To read more about the different member statuses and what they mean, please see the About Sakura section of our guide.

We've further separated this beginner's guide into individual pages to hopefully make the information easier to digest, so feel free to browse through the sections below!
