Trading with Others

Next is the guide on trading with others! Trading is pretty straightforward; all you're doing is exchanging cards between you and another player. Usually, the cards you trade are ones the other will want and in return, they will trade cards you want but sometimes, one player may not care what you trade them if there's something in their trade pile that you want but have nothing (that they're collecting/keeping) to offer – it all depends on the player and their individual trading preferences!

The latter example above is what most would call "trading randoms". If a player says they're okay with trading randoms or accepting randoms then that means you can send them any card in a trade even if they aren't collecting or keeping it! They may ask you to let them know in advance, however, as they might want to look through your trade pile first and see if there's anything they might like anyways so you should always double check the player's trading rules/preferences, regardless of the kind of trade you're sending.

If these aren't outlined or stated anywhere on their trade post, check their profile on the site as we include options for players to choose from that say whether they accept randoms or not; if even that fails, then it doesn't hurt to outright contact them and ask! We also provide contact methods in the profile for players to fill out if they're okay with being contacted via other methods, but you can message them on the forums as well since every active member should have an account.

Another phrase often used is "you can or can't put trades through" which means: you either can or can't approve the trade you send on your end, even without approval or notification from the player you offered the trade to! Most players prefer you wait until they see the trade and wait for their approval before you can approve the trade on your site and log it, but some are okay with it. Again, you will have to check their trading rules/preferences (either on their trade post or on their site profile) or ask them first!

Finally, trades should always be equal in worth, in terms of what's being exchanged!

  • If you're asking for 2 cards that are each worth 1, you should offer 2 cards that are also each worth 1 in return as well; if you're asking for a card worth 2 then you should either offer a card also worth 2, or 2 cards that are each worth 1.
  • An exception to the above is if the player specifically states they allow unequal worth trades! That is, they're okay with trading 1 card that's worth 2, in exchange for 1 card that's worth 1, or vice versa. In this case, usually players can only count the total worth they traded away towards their trade/stamp cards but it may vary from TCG to TCG!
  • In Sakura's case, all our regular decks including special decks are worth 1 so you will not need to worry about this. Member IDs and Hanami cards are all worth 0 too but can only be traded for another card of the same type (and Hanami cards in particular can only be traded as an entire deck) so trades will always be equal on both sides!

NEW RELEASE/UPDATE PULLS & SLOTS

More commonly used phrases! You will likely see players talk about "pulls" or "slots" (depending on the TCG and player); these are referring to the freebies you can take from updates when new decks are released.

We allow all players to take a certain amount of cards from these new decks as freebies but sometimes there might not be any decks you actually want, or there might be specific decks you really want! So players began trading "pulls" as they are literally pulling cards from a new deck for the sake of trading them to another player who actually wants it and requested them from that player. "Slots" are just another way of calling "pulls" as you can view your freebie cards as slots you fill up by giving them to other players, where you'll grab cards from decks they want!

As for what you receive in return, it will vary from player to player and release to release. Usually, players may swap a pull for another pull – this is when both players want to begin collecting/keeping a specific deck right away and want as many cards from it as possible. If you focus on only 1 or 2 decks and offer your pulls to other players who will also give you their pulls from those decks in return then you can achieve this!

However, some players might not want anything from a new release and prefer to receive cards from decks they're already collecting or future collecting/keeping in which case, they will say so and offer their pulls to anyone who can fulfill that request. Other times, players might accept anything in exchange for pulls, no matter if they're collecting/keeping it!

Regardless of which method pulls/slots are exchanged, they will likely almost always be discussed and coordinated on our Discord as that is where most members are active and it's an easy contact method (plus we have a dedicated channel for it, named #trades-and-pulls). If you don't or any player doesn't use Discord though, or don't/doesn't want to make an account (it is very easy to, however, if you're interested!) then we also have Bulletin Board on the forums where you can post what you're looking to give away or ask for instead!
