Cupid's Chocolates 2024

Event Period: February 14th, 2024 ~ March 31st, 2024

Welcome to Sakura's fourth event: Cupid's Chocolates!

Valentine's Day is a very popular holiday in general, but also a staple plot/arc in many series so of course, we at Sakura will be celebrating it here too – by making chocolates!

For thematic purposes, what "making" actually means in this context is: completing event masteries (the "chocolates") to earn rewards, which can be seen as receiving a mutual "confession" of sorts after you have given your "chocolates" to your object of affection (the event mastery theme).

If this sounds confusing, don't worry: the event itself is much simpler than how the concept has been interpreted!

EVENT GUIDE

There are 3 types of "chocolates" AKA event masteries:

  • Mini Masteries (decks containing 10 cards)
  • Full Masteries (decks containing 20 cards)
  • Pairing Masteries (decks containing 20 cards)
During the event, players can complete up to a maximum amount of 10 event masteries total but these 10 masteries can be a combination of any type.

Mini & Full Masteries will have the same general themes that can be chosen from so players can decide how much time/effort to dedicate to the event if they choose to. For example, light activity could be just doing all mini masteries whereas someone with more time or who wants to can do all full masteries instead, or any acceptable combination based on their preferences!

These themes include: Pink, Red, Hearts, and Sweet Treats. For non-colour themes (Hearts & Sweet Treats), there are two options that players can choose from in order to complete a mastery of that theme if it makes things easier for them!

Pairing Masteries on the other hand—while also being considered a "full mastery"—are treated as its own separate type/theme due to different and perhaps more challenging requirements. As such, rewards will be increased for this mastery type even if the amount of cards required is the same as a full mastery!

Do note that pairings do not have to be canon so they can be a minor pairing, a crackship, or even just two characters you like for whatever reason; it’s up to you! However, we are currently not allowing for OT3s (or more).

EVENT REWARDS

As mentioned, different rewards will be given based on the mastery type:

  • Mini Masteries = 1 choice card, 4 random cards
  • Full Masteries = 2 choice cards, 5 random cards
  • Pairing Masteries = 3 choice cards, 6 random cards
All masteries regardless of type will also come with a custom master badge which will be made to the player's preference but the image used must match the mastery's theme! Please refer to the "Mastery Themes" table below for details on the image requirements depending on the mastery type.

Additionally, there are certain requirements that must be followed when submitting event masteries:

  1. Submit the event mastery on the forums, using the correct thread & form: Pink, Red, Hearts, Sweet Treats, or Pairing Masteries.

  2. Include a detailed log of how/where you got every card used in the mastery.

  3. Ensure that the cards being used are STILL DISPLAYED ON YOUR TRADE POST, whether it be in a holding/pending section, collecting page, or other accessible location!
Once we check logs and trade posts, any issues regarding missing cards or cards not accounted for will need to be resolved before you receive your rewards (which will be sent on-site to your rewards page) and custom badges (which will be posted as a quote reply to your forms).

MASTERY THEMES

(example of master badge)
Details on specific mastery themes and each of their respective requirements/guidelines will be in the table below but as a general rule, ALL cards used for an event mastery (no matter the type/theme) must have been earned during the event period (Feb. 14 - Mar. 31)! Rewards, purchases, trading, etc are all eligible unless otherwise specified.

Please note that cards earned prior to the 14th CANNOT be used, even if it was still during February. However, trading cards (that you already own from before the 14th) with another player and them trading it back to you will count as "earning" it again, if done during the mentioned event period!

Additionally, duplicates of a card can be used in different masteries but you CANNOT use duplicates in the SAME mastery. For example, having 2 copies of makinishikino01 in a single mastery is not allowed but using the 1st copy in one mastery then using the 2nd copy in a different mastery is OK. You CAN also use multiple cards from the same deck in the SAME mastery as long as they are different card numbers!

* A choiced method is anything that allows you to choose an exact card, such as: any regular reward that gives you choice cards; purchasing choice cards from the shop; exchanging choicecard coupons; any character skill that allows you choice cards; update freebies or wishes with choice cards unless otherwise stated; and anything else in a similar vein.

FAQ

  • Can you use the same pairing for a mastery multiple times?
Yes! You just need to collect a new set of cards for the two characters, for every mastery you want to complete of that pairing. Like regular decks, once a card is used in a mastery, that specific instance/copy of it cannot be used again - but you can earn another copy of it to use instead!

  • Can I take past update freebies, wishes, and/or new release pulls and use them for event masteries?
Yes, as long as you claim them during the event period! These still count as a choiced method however (unless it was something like random cards or picking cards from a random pile) so please keep the choice card limit in mind if using any of these cards for a pairing mastery.

  • If I randomly decide what cards to take from new release pulls, does it still count as a choiced method?
It does, yes! Because there's no way for us to know that you randomly selected your release pulls or if you're just saying you did, all release pulls will count as a choiced method no matter what you plan on using them for. You could, however, buy the "Chance Packs" from the shop which give you random cards from the most recent release only, and if any of those cards end up being something you can use in a mastery, then it won't count as a choiced method!

  • If I choice cards for others (either through past update stuff, usual choice methods, etc) and trade it to them, does it count towards the choice card limit for them?
No, it does not, as it would be considered a regular trade.

  • Does choosing cards from games like Early Bird, Daikichi's Treasures, Encore, or similar wishes/freebies count as a choiced method?
Generally, no they won't! Even though you are choosing which cards you want from the given pile, it was originally randomly generated so it's not considered a choiced method. However, if there is a bonus freebie (in Encore's case) where we allow you to claim choice cards, that DOES count as a choiced method!

  • Does Lost and Found count as a choiced method?
It will, yes! Since the cards are not really randomly generated and usually gaining cards from L&F allows you more choice than the previously mentioned games do.

  • Are puzzle cards allowed to be used?
Yes, they are! However, do note what part of the puzzle you are using. If the card has part of the card border in it then you can go by the deck's official colour; if the card does NOT have any part of the card border then the main image portion itself must match the chosen mastery theme's colour. Essentially: the less we have to look up to double check it matches the mastery theme, the better (which is why the general rule of thumb for specific themes is "if it's obvious, it counts")!
