Adopt a Character
One of our main activities here is a feature where you can Adopt a Character! In addition to "owning" your favourite characters, you can also equip them with what we call a Character Skill so they can help you throughout the TCG.
Currently, players start off with a base limit of 3 adoptions – but this limit can be increased with an additionaladoption coupon, up until you have a max. total of 6! However, adoptions can only be made by using one of our currencies, sakura petals, to cover the fees.
 | When you make an adoption, you will receive a custom-made adoption certificate to represent it that looks like the example on the left. This includes all the details relevant to your adoption, as well as an image and color chosen by you! Please display this both on your trade post and anywhere you may need to show it in order to use its skill if required, like in a forum post where you're activating it. If you forget to post the certificate and a staff member has already approved your form/given you a reward, you cannot go back and retroactively use the skill! Similarly, you cannot use a character skill on anything done before obtaining it either. |
In terms of series or character restrictions, there are none! You can adopt as many characters from the same series as you want (without exceeding the max. limit of 6 adoptions allowed, of course) but you cannot adopt the same character twice within your currently active adoptions. However, if you dropped a character before and want to adopt them again later on, that is allowed!
There is also no limit on how many players can adopt the same character as this is not a first come, first served activity so don't worry if one of your faves is popular! As long as you use a different image from any other currently active adoptions of the same character, it is allowed.
ADOPTION FEES
| The fee for each adoption consists of the Base Adoption Fee (which is always 300 petals) plus the Character Skill Fee (see "Character Skills" table below for specific costs) with the total being the amount you would pay! To make changes to an existing adoption or even drop an adoption to make room for a new one entirely, you will need to pay the related fee(s) again. Please refer to the table on the right for a more detailed breakdown! At the moment, there is no limit to how many changes you can make to an adoption as long as you can afford it. When it says "new Character Skill fee" it means whatever the cost of the new skill you want, is how much you would pay to change it to, which is why there is no specific amount listed in the table. |

ADOPTION COUPONS
As you may have noticed, we currently have 3 coupons available related to our adoption activity: additionaladoption, adoptionchange, and adoptiondiscount - you may use multiple types on a single adoption, depending on the circumstance! One way is to use the "additionaladoption" coupon to unlock the additional adoption slot first, then the "adoptiondiscount" coupon to cover one of the fees (or both, if you have 2 of those coupons to use).The other is if you have an existing adoption you want to change, but only want to change one of either: the character or the skill! In this case, you can use either the "adoptionchange" or "adoptiondiscount" coupon to waive one of the fees (usually the most expensive one by default).
Don't forget that the additionaladoption coupon only unlocks that additional slot for as long as you retain that adoption! If you later drop it because you're at the max. limit of 6 and you want to adopt a new character entirely (versus just changing either the character/image or skill), you will need another coupon to keep that additional slot open. It is NOT permanent!
CHARACTER SKILLS
Although not required, it is strongly recommended that you equip your adoption with a skill at the time of applying for it, to give you an extra benefit within the TCG (and cut back on the processing time if you choose to add one afterwards)! All adoptions are only allowed 1 skill per character and each skill is permanent so they don't expire after a certain amount of uses like coupons do.As mentioned earlier, all skills do have a fee so if you cannot afford one at the moment but still want to adopt a character, you can always add a skill to your certificate later – you would just need to fill out the "Skill Change" form and pay the cost of the skill you want at that time.
The full list of currently available skills are in the table below, with prices for each varying depending on how "valuable" a skill is compared to others. However, please choose the skill(s) that best suit your needs now, whatever they may be! You can always change the skill in the future if you no longer find a use for it and want something new.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
For the following skills (Deck Release Upgrade, Deck Release Limit Break) — you can use these skills together, meaning if a release normally allows you to take 12 cards altogether but only 2 per deck then the combination of these two skills will allow you to 1) take 14 cards altogether and 2) take up to 4 cards per deck instead. Keep in mind that you don't have to always make full use of the limit break if you only wanted to take 3 cards from a deck or if the total amount of cards you're allowed to take altogether prevents you from doing so! Also these numbers may vary depending on release size and member status so take that into account when planning your pulls as well.For the Gift Box Access skill — the period to collect your gift is 2 weeks from the day you activated the skill (simply add 14 days to this date)! If you forget to claim this gift and it's been more than 2 weeks since the last time you did, the cool-down period will restart from the new date you collect the gift.
