Which means we're halfway through the year now, and heading into the second half of 2024! I hope everyone's been doing well (or holding up as best as you can) and that you keep enjoying Sakura!! Would you guys believe me if I say I actually had most of the update done since yesterday so I could just update the games and release decks today but then I took a nap and slept for so long that when I woke up it was midnight already... because it's true :') When I woke up, I wanted to eat first too because I was really hungry but I swear I started working on finishing up the update right after that!!!! So I just wanted to give an explanation why this update is technically late (in my timezone anyways) and say I'm so sorry about that! Next week, yasu should be back on her update week so the success rate of the update being posted on time is like over 90% lmfao We'll see you again for the next update on August 7th~ EVENT CARDAs always, it'll be in the sidebar so it can be grabbed at any point during the month no matter when you joined! Don't forget to grab it before the month is over or you'll miss out on it~ ev-202408 SAKURA SPOTLIGHTA new month means a new spotlight member! Congrats saya, RNG has decided that you're our featured star for August~ Don't forget to send me (Cassidy) a forum PM with the 2 decks you want made and/or released during the month, and newly added: please choose 10 decks and/or specific cards you'd like to see be used in Memory Test as well! They will be changed ASAP, if not then by the next weekly update at the latest. Otherwise, make good use of your benefits for the next 31 days! GAMESAside from what's been stated to be updated above, there's some extra things to note:Forum Games: The monthly ones will be updated as their staff get to them so if new rounds aren't already up by the time I post this, check back later in the week! Sakura Matsuri: Welcome our new staff members, Eli, Joey, and moe! They will be taking over Matsuri for Haylee & Mio starting from this month, however the new round will be a little delayed because I dropped the ball on contacting them about being hired so by the time I did, it was already the end of July. As such, they didn't have enough time to discuss the new round so it could be posted today; we will try to have it up by the weekend though, if not then by next Wednesday at the latest! Once the round IS up, you may notice a few differences - namely in formatting of the stall list and how rewards are passed out once it comes time for that, as well as the addition of a field to request early rewards in the form used to submit completed tasks. These are mostly appearance changes to keep things uniform and easy to read, but also to potentially lessen the amount of posts staff have to go through at the end of each round by allowing requests for early rewards if someone finishes the tasks before the deadline! Sakura Spotlight: A new benefit has been added to the reward of whoever is chosen for the month, which is being added in conjunction with one of the wishes granted today to change the cards in Memory Test! You can check it out on the game page itself but I also mention it in the spotlight section of this update with further instructions for the winner. Lucky Threes: Lastly, I've finally changed the images! I know a few have asked about this over the year and it was always on my to do list but frankly, it was a very low priority task because there were so many other things I needed to do first. But I realized that the higher priority stuff will likely never end so I decided to just do it when I had the energy and time to, like this week! So enjoy for now, and hopefully it won't be another 1+ year before it changes again lol TCG UPDATESAs most of my updates today were about games, I just have the usual monthly housekeeping for the rest of the news!Donations: The spreadsheet has been cleared of any claims that weren't donated on time for July so August claims are now open! I don't recall anyone asking me (or yasu) for extensions but if you did and got one of our approvals (so we just forgot to note it on the spreadsheet) then please let me (Cassidy) know ASAP so I can add it back!! August Birthdays: You know what time it is...! Grab your present, apply for your achievement badge, and we wish you a happy birthday! EVENT COMING SOON?I'm thinking of potentially whipping something up to celebrate Sakura's original anniversary, which is on August 24th (when 1.0 first opened back in 2016). This year is the 8th (!!!!!) year since the TCG opened and while half of that time was spent on hiatus, I think this is still something to commemorate especially since August is the 8th month in the year - so double 8's! I can't promise anything yet but as it usually goes with me, I'll think of something overnight and next thing I know, I'm announcing a new event lolWISHING TREE CLARFICATIONSHere are some details regarding a couple of the wishes granted today!Selena's Wish: Instead of trade meters needing 20 points to be completed, for the ENTIRE month of August, you will only need 10 points to complete one! The form has been updated to reflect this, and if anyone has trading points stockpiled from before this month then you are allowed to use this wish on them too! But first: apologies for the late update! As mentioned in the Discord, yasu was really tired from work and RL commitments, so she forgot to post the update yesterday as she normally would - which is understandable!! However, I only realized the update wasn't posted when it was really late into the day so I didn't have the time to put it together myself before Wednesday ended, which is why the update is coming to you a day late on Thursday instead. That said, I was able to get a couple of extra things done for today that I didn't have ready for yasu in time for yesterday so there's some silver lining here or something LOL TCG NEWSNot much to report for this past week either, aside from the fact that it'll be August next week! So this is your last reminder to finish monthly stuff like games, donations, etc. If your birthday was this month, don't forget to pick up your gift + apply for your birthday achievement! If you're Spotlight Member, you still have a week left to make use of your benefits if you haven't yet. All the usual stuff!Four Seasons (Spring 2024): Another reminder that Bonus Rewards Claiming for the Spring season is still open, until August 31st!
